Replicas on United Wardrobe

It is forbidden to sell replica (counterfeit or 1:1). This is punishable by law and therefore clothes, shoes or accessories that are not authentic are not allowed on United Wardrobe. Our teams daily check items and block those that do not respect our mission. If we notice an account repeatedly adding replica, we are forced to block this account.

However, with the volume of items being put on our platform each day, it is not yet possible for us to check the authenticity of all items. We therefore ask our users to be mindful and careful when buying. Please see below some more information about what to do to help us against replicas. 

Recognizing replica 

As a buyer, it can sometimes be hard to determine if an item is authentic or not based on pictures. It is therefore critical to ask the seller for more information in the Comments section. Sellers can respond to you directly in the Comments sections and add pictures to the item's advert (for example pictures of a serial number, the authenticity certificate or the invoice). 

We strongly advise you to check the items really well before you purchase it. You can read all comments previously posted on that item. These are public so all users can access the information provided by sellers, as well as warnings from other users. Also keep in mind that if something seems to good to be true, it probably is. 

As sellers can answer your questions via the Comments section and add pictures (including copies of receipt or authenticity certificates) to the advertisement, there is no need to exchange personal information such as email, phone, social network user IDs, etc. Therefore, we will not accept responsibility for any transactions made outside of our platform.

Reporting replica

Due to the large volume of new items each day, we count on our UW community to help us identify and remove replicas from our platform. This is why we have put a system in place with which you can report replica items to us. We will go through this list daily, contact sellers for additional evidence as required, and we will block replicas or the sellers' accounts if there are repeat offenders.

  • In the iOS app you can do this by clicking on the menu (3 dots) in the top right corner on the product page. Click on "report item" and give us the reason for reporting.
  • In the Android app you can do this by clicking the menu (3 dots) beneath the pictures in the right corner. You will need to select "report item" and give us the reason.
  • On the website you can do this by going to the comments and clicking on the gear-icon. You will be able to report the item there.

Receiving replica

When you receive your order, you need to indicate so right away on the platform. However, you then have 4 days to confirm you are happy with your order or lodge a return request. You should really use this time to check the authenticity of the items you received.

When you think you received a replica item, we advise you to fill in a return request through the order page. You need to clearly state why you think you received a replica item and support this by adding pictures of the differences. If the seller does not accept your return request, we will judge it. When your item is replica, we will always accept the return request. 

You will need to send the item to our office, using a Track & Trace code. More information will be given to you in our answer to your return request. We will check the item and confiscate it in case of a counterfeit. We will reimburse you for the order price, the shipping costs and the return shipping costs.
