Bid cancellation

It is possible to bid on an item on United Wardrobe if the seller has activated this option. You can recognize this by two different buttons on the product page. You see one button to purchase the item and one button to place a bid.

Check out below for additional information about cancelling bids:

Withdrawing from a bid

You can withdraw your bid after 3 days if it is still not accepted by the seller. You can do this via Menu > My bids > Placed. You will see all your placed bids here. If you click on a bid that is not yet accepted, you will be able to withdraw this bid. If you have withdrawn a bid, the seller can't accept your bid anymore.

A bid is binding

When your bid is accepted by the seller, you can't withdraw it anymore. The seller agreed to your price. Placing a bid on United Wardrobe is binding, which means that when the seller accepts it, you are required to purchase the item.

In particular, when the seller accepts your bid, the item is marked as "sold", which means other users are not able to purchase the item. You are the buyer. Therefore, the item will be marked as sold on our platform and it will be placed in your cart.  However, the order will only be created when you purchase the item. We will also then notify the seller and give him the shipping instructions.

Cancelling a accepted bid

You can't cancel an accepted bid. Just like with any other auction, you are required to purchase the item when your bid is accepted. Our bid system won't work when you are able to withdraw an accepted bid. If you want to cancel your bid with a good reason, we advise you to inform the seller. You can do this by placing a comment on one of his/her other items. The seller can cancel the bid after 48 hours, if you did not purchase the item in the meantime. When the seller cancels the bid, the item will automatically be back for sale for the other users.
