How different is it from domestic shipping?
It is generally as safe as domestic shipping. Just keep in mind though that shipping fees are higher and delivery takes longer.
To help you safeguarding your order, we have compiled below a few tips for sending a package abroad:
- In the chat, check that the buyer's first and last name, as well as address are correct.
- Pack the product securely, the package has a long way to go (you cannot use a plastic bag to ship internationally).
- Always write your return address on the package. If the package cannot be delivered, the order will automatically be returned to sender and will less likely get lost.
- Always send your package with Track & Trace code and give it to the buyer in the chat.
As with domestic shipping, we strongly recommend shipping with Track & Trace, so the buyer can follow the shipping. Besides, when you send the item with stamps, the chance that it gets lost is big, and this will be your responsibility. We can't compensate you when your order gets lost with stamps. Please be careful with this!
When the Track & Trace code says that the item is delivered, but the buyer has not yet finalised the order and isn't replying to your messages, please contact us. We will try to get in touch with him and finalise the order if needed.
What international shipping options are offered?
It will depend on the country you are in and where you are buying from. By default, we will use the local postal services (PostNL, BPost, La Poste) but we do not yet provide the shipping labels. You will therefore need to pay for shipping (with Track & Trace), but we will pass onto you the fees paid by the buyer as soon as he finalises the order. UPS is also possible for orders coming from The Netherlands, and Mondial Relay for France-Belgium shipping (both ways). You will need to have activated these delivery modes first though.
Can I refuse to sell abroad?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to opt-out and prevent foreign users from buying your items (as long as they are from the countries in which we operate). They are aware that delivery will take longer and pay the corresponding higher fees so you should feel safe to ship your items to whomever buys them.
However, we understand that you may not be comfortable with this. In this case, we suggest you put it clearly in the Comments/item description that you do not want to ship abroad.
We understand that people from other countries may be interested in ordering on UW and ask you to ship to another country (e.g., UK, Italy, etc). It may be possible for them to do so in the future because we really want to spread our vision to as many people/countries as possible. However for now, we strongly recommend that you do not ship an item there. If you do, then you will incur additional shipping fees and UW will not be responsible if your order is lost. Please contact us so we can cancel the order.
